The Company

The prime focus of Shy Torc is Jazz, but it is a soft focus with relaxed lighting, as our background has its roots in many other forms of music, drawing from our global musical heritage.

If you thought that you were not good enough to play Jazz, or don't like the songs that are performed traditionally by Jazz bands, you have come to the right place.

Shy Torc works to blur the distinctions between musical genres so that the only barriers to enjoyment are those in your own minds. Those who seek to separate those who are 'In' from those who are not by some arbitrary yardstick are encouraged to leave their prejudices at the door.

Our Mission

• To break down any real or imaginary barriers that exist between different genres of  music, and the musicians that create them
• To allow people to experiment with their music without prejudice, and  encourage improvisation in all forms of music.

Company Profile

Shy Torc is run by Trevor Clarke, a Guitarist of thirty plus years experience.  Trevor took up keyboards over four years ago, and plays a 'Liquorice Stick' (Clarinet) on rare occasions.  Trevor can coax a recognizable tune out of most instruments, but guitar and keyboards are his forte.

Trevor also writes and arranges music to order.
